Abstract
The confiscated Javan Hawk-eagle has released on 11 of June 2006 at Panaruban Area and following with post-release monitoring intensively on 11 June-7 July 2006 or 27 field days with observation times on 6-8 hour/day, while total observation data counted are 9185 minutes from total observation time. Field data collection conducted by several methods including telemetry method and visual observation also information from local people.
Based on results of post-release monitoring on 27 days was carried out an information on development of daily activities. Home range development of this released eagle conducted by using Grid cell method. After 27th days of post release, the estimation of its home range is about 112,5 ha.
On 2 of August 2006, this released eagle has recaptured for some treatments in Panaruban Raptor Center. On 2 on January 2007, this eagle has released for the second times, this eagle is still monitored and recorded at Cijalu, 10 months after the second release in almost 12 km from release site.

ABSTRACT
The study on tree characteristic of raptor nest, vegetation structure and physical variable around tree nest was carried out between September 2003 and February 2004 at Changeable Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus cirhatus) nest, Javan Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus bartelsi) nest and Black Eagle (Ictinaetus malayensis) nest on Tangkuban Perahu Mountain.
The research used descriptive analysis methods, and survey methods used to collect all data. The result of the study shows that tree species were not specially selected for nest placement, but all nests were particularly placed on emergent tree. Three nests have been placed on the first branch of the trees until the top of an open canopy. All trees which were placed nests, grows on a slope land and not far away from the river.

ABSTRACT
The study conducted on incubation period of breeding pair of Javan Hawk-eagle at Ciasem-Tangkuban Perahu Nature Reserve by direct observation and using surveillances camera (CCTV) method to carry out an incubation behaviors and proportions of daily activities during incubation period.
An incubation period of this breeding pair is beginning when an adult laid the egg on nest (1 of July 2003) until the eaglet was sight on first time (17 of August 2003) or 47 days.
There are two main categories of behaviour on the active nest during incubation period i.e. incubate the egg by both of adults (86.41%) and non-incubate behaviour (13.59%) such as nest repairing, feeding, defecating, and other activities. The proportion or total time of incubation in each day during of incubation period (47 days) are between 68,27% - 97,24% with observation time on 06.00 – 18.00 or 12 hours per days.

ABSTRACT
One of the important period of lifecycle of the Javan Hawk-eagle is breeding period, however, on this period the eagles are very sensitive to any kinds of disturbance from human activities including observation of breeding behaviour from some researchers.
To eliminate human activities on this period, observation on breeding behavior of the breeding pair of Javan Hawk-eagle in Panaruban-Tangkuban Perahu was conducted by using surveillances camera (CCTV TelView?) method.
Two camera surveillances were installed at a tree adjacent to the nest with each distance about 20 meters and 50 meters from the nest. Every camera was wire-connected to a screen monitor and recorder at flying camp (500 m from nest tree). To gain electricity in operating the camera surveillance, an environmental friendly electricity power in the form of picohydro was built using water debit Ciasem near to the nest area.
The camera installation is on 24-25 May 2003 or before lying egg period continuing intensively monitoring through camera surveillance for three months, began on May until August 2003.

| Our Wish List |
|
:: wish :: We need a new cages! Pebruary 2, 2008 These Raptor pre release cages can be made into a duplex by slipping a large board in between the two halves. Injured adult raptors are much more comfortable outside in a more natural setting while they heal. Juveniles need this transition before they are comfortable in the Flight Cage. We have two and need two more |
